Battery Powered Controllers

Conventional DC Valve Version

 

 

 

 

 


The conventional DC valve version of the controller operates 12V DC valves. The controller boosts the output voltage to 14V to allow operation of the valves at a distance from the controller, and to compensate for lower voltages from a discharged battery. The controller is designed to run from an automotive size lead acid battery.

Latching Valve Version

 

 

 

 

 

The latching valve version of the controller operates 6V, 12V and 24V latching solenoid valves. The controller boosts the output voltage to 28V to allow the operation of the higher voltage valves, and to allow valves to be operated at a distance from the controller.
The controller will run from a small solar panel or a 12V DC supply.
 

Battery Controller Features

 

 

 

 

  • 15 irrigation programs and 60 automatic starts.

  • Valves can be individually named. Valves can be placed in any order within an irrigation program.

  • Automatic starts can be set on either a daily or weekly basis and any automatic start can start any program.

  • Valve times can be set in minutes and seconds or hours and minutes.

  • Rainfall can be monitored and automatically reduce watering by a given percentage.

  • With the addition of a flow meter, the controller can check that the water flow rate is within a specified range for each valve and log the volume of water used.

  • With the addition of the Heron Mobile Module, controllers, can be operated remotely via a mobile phone and text messages can be sent on alarm conditions.

  • Can operate as either a standalone irrigation controller or run from a PC using Heron’s "Ground Control” .

  • Back flush facility for filters.

  • Continual cycling of up to 8 programs.

  • Fertigation option to support the dosing of feed.

  • Data stored in permanent memory. The real time clock has an independent battery.

  • Two pump start outputs.

  • Remote start input , remote stop input and flow meter input.

  • All outputs protected against electrical surges exceeding ANSI C62 surge suppression standards.

  • Optional impact resistance enclosure with lockable door.
